China town in NYC and Josh Groban in DC

The Josh Groban concert was absolutely amazing tonight. He has a such a beautiful and uplifting voice. I had forgotten how much I love concerts. This was John's 2nd concert ever and I hope I have gotten him hooked. In another life maybe I will be lucky enough to have such a talent as Josh Groban does! Definitly the highlight of this whole spring break! Everyone should go ...maybe he will come to Tampa someday...

We love NYC...

We checked out Columbia law school and NYU. So far Georgetown is the nicest campus we have visited. The tally is now up to 6 law schools...and we will probably check out 2 more before we come home. It has been exciting to see all the different schools.

We are "At the Top of the Rock" the Rockafellar building. From here you can see over the whole city. We went up to the 69th story- it was a pretty view. Behind us is the empire state building.

The bottom pic is of the Columbia University Library. I felt like I was in Rome or something. Very historic.

Our adventures in NYC...

We are having a blast in

NYC. The top pic is a John's friend Stewart from High School- we are lucky to be staying in his 400 sq ft. apartment :) Close quarters - things that are free usually are. This morning we headed over to the Manhattan Temple. It was closed so we just saw the outside. It is very different than the Orlando Temple. The whole temple is just in the corner of a busy street. Cool though.

John was nice enough to endure some shopping on 5th Avenue. I now know that if I lived in this city I would probably be broke. There are so many nice stores. The highlight for me was going to the "flagship" Coach store. The biggest one in NY- two stories. Me, mom, Jenny, and Brittan definitly need to take a shopping trip here sometime soon. Just think about it Dad:)

Liberty Bell in Philadelphia...

We visited all the tourist sites in Philly. It was fun and cold. Liberty Bell first and then on to Independence Hall where the Constitution and Articles of Confederation were written and signed. The tour guide rep was quite stirring. It made me really want to go to law school - for real- in another life Mom and I can go together :)

Travels on the East Coast

China town in D.C. - John and I had fun on the metro and runnng around D.C. We ate at an authenic Chinese Restaurant. We were walking down the street and John spotted a BYU Chinese professor he had- we tried to catch up with him, but he was walking to fast! Random...Then we head up to Baltimore to visit Kristin and Camey's famlies! We had so much fun and went on some nice day trips.

I love our Annie Mae...

Anna Mae is quite a character. She is finally beginning to really talk. I love hearing all the new words she learns daily. It is really amazing. She is beginning to warm up to John. Now when she sees him she usually starts giggling or she says "Moo Moo". For some reason John always teases her about being afraid of cows. She grabs her little shoulders as she hugs her body and says "Oooh". We are working on the cow issue :) Campbell and Annie rode Zipper bareback this week. Campbell is very brave and confident. Papa and Shanty taught her how to use the reins. She is a natural!

Here are some pics from the new house...

These are just a few. It is so fun to have the girls come over and play in the big front room. They run around and around!

Goodbye Gainesville...hello Inverness!

We are grateful and excited to be living in Inverness for a short time. Thanks to Mom and Dad's generosity we have a sweet new house! This is really going to spoil us though...I don't know how we are ever going to go back to an apartment. I was lucky to have little Annie Mae help me move out the last day.

It was quite an adventure. I learned that food solves all problems...I will remember that one!

Tender Mercies and Guardian Angels

We were in a restaurant tonight w/ Kaley and John and the girls. Anna Mae started choking on a chip--and before long had started turning blue. Brian started trying to solve the problem but her little body was becoming more and more limp and finally she was passing out. I started at first whispering and then almost screaming for help--and within a few seconds a nurse came forward. She knew the right thing to do and had a sense of calmness about her. She quickly pounded on Annastyn's back--and the little chip came flying out! Annastyn started crying--and it was like that first cry you hear when a new baby enters the world! The little restaurant was very tiny and we were soooo blessed that there was someone that could save our little one's life. The nurse was visiting from out-of-town. The paramedic checked her out--and she's fine. She went right back to eating--and eventually we had to send the chips back--because she was so insistent to eat another chip.

A song that they just presented at time out for Women last Saturday--came to mind . . . I didn't like it at the time--but when this instance happened it was all I could think of:

God hear my praise, Lord hear my thanks, Sweet day of Grace when Jesus came to save me, God almighty hear my praise!

I am so thankful that I was able to come home with my two little girls, and that God has allowed Annastyn's sweet sweet spirit to remain with us!

Thanks for your love and support!
Brittan
