The Champs

The winning team...here they are. It was chilly and windy, which these Utah boys are accustomed to. No problemo for them. Unfortunately, these environmental factors affected the Florida team more than they anticipated... which resulted in a "B team" performance (not their usual A team). We will have to see who wins the next match... hot and muggy- Inverness, Florida. The Florida team (Dad and Raleigh) will have the home court advantage then. Until next time...

Raleigh and Dad

The boys had a grueling tennis match one afternoon. Dad/ Raleigh vs. Ben and John. To my understanding Ben/John won the match 6-2, 6-4. My favorite part about this whole get together was Dad's outfit... (little did he know) he was wearing the very stylish and hip Jordan warm-ups. I have never seen Dad in workout pants- my whole 25 years of existence. He really is so cute! :) Mom strongly agrees with me on that one!

Kaley

Dinner at the Andersen's

We had a wonderful evening at the Andersen's Sunday March 19th. Aunt Kathy prepared an extravagent 3 course meal. This beautiful meal took place on the Christmas china Mom had given her in December... it felt like Christmas in March! :) We had lots of fun catching up and chatting. This was Kiley and Suzette's first time meeting some of the extended family. I believe that they both had a memorable experience!

Dinner Time

Kaley, John, and Kempton at Barnes and Noble waiting for our Happy Sumo reservation to become available. Mom, Dad, Ben, and Raleigh are also browsing through the bookstore counting down the minutes until dinner. It was sure worth the wait ... nothing compares to the Happy Sumo Vegas Roll!

Ben & Suzette

Ben and Suzette are the hot new couple in the family. They have been casually dating for a few months. They are a very fun and energetic couple. Ben has yet to beat Suzette in a tennis match. I think the score is 5-0. Good luck with that Ben!! :)

Raleigh's Night

Raleigh's BIG 17 party at Kaley and John's pad in South Orem. Congrats Raleigh!! First, we all met for dinner at Brick Oven for pizza and salad...yummy! Then we went and watched Ben play an intramural basketball game. His team lost on purpose. Raleigh and Sarah split and went to a movie. Lots of quality time!

Want to be finanancially saavy--check out this quote!

One from President Heber J. Grant, focusing on the temporal blessings of tithe paying, said, “I want to repeat to the Latter-day Saints my firm belief that God our Heavenly Father…gives wisdom to those men and to those women who are strictly honest with Him in the payment of their tithing.” In a later statement President Grant said, “I believe that to those who are liberal [in paying tithing] the Lord gives ideas, and they grow in capacity and ability more rapidly than those that are stingy.”

Brian's new job

Brian was offered a job today with Haag, Friedrich & Blume, a law firm in Inverness. He accepted their offer. He will begin working with them in mid-April as a law clerk until he is sworn into the Bar (hopefully late April/early May). They will then upgrade him to the position of a First-Year Associate! He is super excited about this new position and he feels that the firm will fit his personality. It sounds like the attorney that he worked with over the summer recommended him for this position. Anyways--thanks for caring!

Terrorists, Hurricanes, and Viruses: What's next?

Today at the Clearinghouse we had a guest lecturer speak on Terrorists, Hurricanes, and Viruses: What's next? I wasn't able to attend (because of the girls) but I watched it as a Webcast. He discussed the ramifications of a pandemic from various viruses--such as the Avian Flu. He said that a vaccine cannot be developed until the virus has mutated. At this point, it is expected that there will be 3-6 months (at a minimum) period to develop a vaccine to treat the mutated virus. There might be some degree of quarantine during this period of time.

What it tells me: FOOD STORAGE is going to be super important!!! We might all want to re-evaluate our efforts to fulfill this vital commandment!

How to Write a Blog

If you just post a comment--it will not show up--unless someone clicks on the comments.

This is how to post a blog.

When you get to this website--on the right hand side (mid way down) you'll see a little red square w/ a funny shaped "B" in it. Click on that. It will take you "behind the scenes". You'll see a little menu with a green plus sign (+). The column is titled "NEW POST". If you click on the little plus sign--it'll take you to an "email-like" screen. That's where you post your blog.

It gives you on option to spell check and to add pictures. (To add a picture click on the little square that looks like a snapshot).

Hope this helps!
